- The Board of Education is investigating a capital bond project that will provide money for roof repairs, site improvements, electrical upgrades, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) replacements throughout the school district.

- On Thursday, November 29, Ithaca High School’s Student Council hosted a Red Cross blood drive in Activities. Throughout the day, 82 people gave blood. Although fewer people donated blood this year than last year, many more had made appointments than were able to donate.

- In late October and early November, there was a spike in the number of thefts at Ithaca High School, especially in locker rooms.

- Scott Miller is serving as acting Associate Principal for the 06-07 school year. Previously retired, he returned to IHS to take over Claudette James’s position, after she left to fill a job at Dewitt Middle School.
- New College and Careers Assistant Offers Help to Beleagered Students - By Fanny L.
- The college-application process is generally stressful and anxiety-inducing for students and teachers alike. The IHS College Application and Career Office (CACO) is responsible for sending out over 1600 applications each year, along with verifying that every applicant has all paperwork complete and sent on time.
- IHS Looks at Quad Renovation Plans - By Jarrah O.
- On Wednesday, December 6, thirteen Cornell University design students presented their plans for a Quad renovation. The project to improve the Quad began three years ago when Principal Joe Wilson came to Ithaca High School and decided he wanted to make the quad more hospitable. The project became closer to realization when Wilson sought Professor Marvin I. Adelman of Cornell University’s help. As a public service project, his Landscape Architect Design students have created plans for the quad that include raised gardens and grass, increased seating, and movie screens.
