New ICSD Magazine

The Ithaca City School District (ICSD) has launched a bi-annual magazine, ICSD Insight. It focuses on the achievements and goals of the Board of Education, teachers, and students. The newsletter is sent to all addresses in the ICSD and is distributed around Ithaca.

ICSD Works to Improve Equity

The Equity Assistance Center, part of the umbrella organization Metro Center for Urban Education, has been working inside the ICSD since July to analyze how Ithaca schools can improve equity. The organization plans to visit schools, review data, and implement equity plans in the district over the next few years.

Dismissal Delayed

Dismissal on Friday, December 1 was delayed until 3:39 due to severe weather warnings. After repeated warnings from Principal Joe Wilson about the severity of the storm during seventh and eighth periods, the school went into lockdown for the last part of eighth period. Just before the usual dismissal time of 3:32, Superintendent Judith C. Pastel decided to delay dismissal until the storm had passed.
